Question:

I have 2009 silverado 2500 2.5 inch receiver new purchase today. I own a trailer rated at 7500 lbs, the hitch is 2 inch load equalizing hitch. Go to 2.5 inch two 2 inch receiver, With a reducer any name brand will it change the weight rating of the hitch, and safety of vehicle etc.

If you use a reducer sleeve, # C45405, the capacity of the hitch will not be reduced. If you used Titan extension # RP45292 you will be limited to the capacity of the adapter (8K with weight distribution at the 24 inch length or 6K with weight distribution at the 34 inch length). But it does not reduce the trailer hitch capacity.
