Question:
Hello etrailer team, I’m considering your e84ZV hitch for my incoming 2026 Toyota RAV4 Limited AWD Hybrid. Your vehicle-specific page says it fits, but the main product page’s fitment list stops at 2025 for the RAV4. Could you please confirm: Has this exact hitch been physically test-fitted on the redesigned 2026 RAV4 Limited Hybrid? Does it retain the hands-free liftgate kick sensor without relocating or disabling it? Does installation require bumper removal, trimming, drilling, or other modifications? Can you provide current installation instructions and any photos or clearance measurements from a 2026 installation? Do you carry the EcoHitch X7518S for this vehicle? If so, how does its clearance and installation compare? My main use is a bike rack, with occasional small-trailer towing. I’ll install it myself and care most about straightforward installation, a concealed cross tube, and keeping the kick sensor functional. Thank you.

Welcome back Mohan. Our etrailer Hitch item # e84ZV has been confirmed to fit the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Limited Hybrid. We actually just installed one last week so it has been physically tested as well. We've gotten a few positive reviews back from customers who were able to install it with no issues.
I attached the pictures we took below.
Our etrailer Hitch item # e84ZV does indeed block the range on the 2026 RAV4 Hybrid's liftgate sensor. Some customers were able to kick to the left or right of the receiver to find a zone that wasn't blocked.
You do not have to remove the bumper, drill, cut, or modify your RAV4 to install the etrailer item # e84ZV hitch. This will be a pretty easy installation. I recommend having a friend help you hold up the hitch while you're bolting it in place.
I've linked the installation instructions below for the Curt item # C34FR62ZY. Curt makes our hitches so the installation steps are identical. Clearance measurements are not available yet.
We do not currently carry the EcoHitch X7518S. The 2" receiver looks like it tucks up closer to the rear bumper so it will have better ground clearance by probably an inch.
To add trailer wiring, I recommend the Curt Wiring Harness item # C34FR62FT and the Mounting Bracket for 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # C42CR and item # C83DR. This combo of mounting brackets will attach the 4-way connector to the crosstube of the etrailer item # e84ZV hitch without drilling.
What kind of bikes and bike rack do you have? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
