Question:
I just bought a 2027 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid and want to flat tow it behind our motorhome. I'd prefer to use Blue Ox equipment and like the idea of a portable braking system instead of having something permanently installed in the truck. What all would you recommend for a complete setup?

Hey Daniel, congratulations on the new Maverick! You can flat tow your 2027 Ford Maverick Hybrid behind your motorhome, and I recommend the following setup:
-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU94ER
-Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar # BLU28QV
-Blue Ox Universal Tow Bar Cover # BLU53QV (Optional)
-Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit # RM-15267
-Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR
-Roadmaster 12V Outlet Kit # RM-9332
-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25
The Blue Ox Avail has a 10,000 lb capacity, non-binding arms, and includes the safety cables, so you won't need to purchase those separately. The Patriot is a nice choice if you want portable braking since you can remove it when you're finished towing or move it between vehicles.
The 12V outlet provides power for the Patriot, while the charge line helps maintain your Maverick's battery during towing. Ford also requires an external 12V power source when using an add-on braking system, so the charge line is especially important for this setup.
You may also need a high-low adapter like # e52ZV to keep your setup level. Measure from the ground to the center of your motorhome's receiver and compare that to the base plate's 15" bracket height to determine the rise or drop you need.
Where are you headed once you get everything set up for towing?

Thanks Robin! We're planning to take the Maverick out west next summer. One other question, if we upgrade to a different motorhome down the road, can we keep using this Blue Ox setup or would we need to replace everything?
