Replacement ST235/80R16 Trailer Tires For 5th Wheel

Published 10/21/2026

Question:

I need to replace all four ST235/80R16 Load Range E tires on my fifth wheel. The wheels are still in good shape, so I was planning to keep them. Do you sell the Kenda KR53 tires separately, or would I be better off buying them already mounted on new wheels?

Hey Patrick! If your existing wheels are still in good condition, I recommend the Kenda Karrier KR53 ST235/80R16 # KE35TJ. These are Load Range E radial tires rated for 3,520 lbs each at 85 psi. You can have them mounted on your existing 16" wheels without paying for new wheels you don't need.

If you'd rather replace the complete assemblies, we also have the Kenda KR53 mounted on 16" wheels with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. You can choose from the following:

-Kenda Karrier KR53 With Black Steel Wheel # KE22EV

-Kenda Karrier KR53 With Silver Steel Wheel # KE82EV

-Kenda Karrier KR53 With Black Aluminum Wheel # KE83JV

These are a convenient option if your current wheels are damaged or you're looking to replace everything at once.

What kind of 5th wheel do you have?

Thanks Robin! I'm leaning toward the aluminum wheels instead of keeping my old steel ones. Is there any advantage to the aluminum wheels other than appearance?

@Patrick yes, the aluminum wheels on the # KE83JV are lighter than comparable steel wheels and naturally resist rust, which is nice if your fifth wheel sits outside between trips. If your existing wheels are in good shape, there's nothing wrong with keeping them, but aluminum is a nice upgrade if you're replacing everything.
