Is this item water proof?

In order for something to be considered waterproof it needs to be able to withstand submersion for a certain amount of time without any water leaking in.

The Custer 4-LED Strobe Light or Running Light # STRL4W would work well on the exterior of your vehicle and normal amounts of rain wouldn't break it. But I would not recommend it for a boat trailer where the trailer gets submerged. For something like that you would want a LED Backup Light part # BUL10CB.
