How Much Wall Clearance Is Needed For The Eddie Bauer Dutchmen RV Recliner EB64FR ?

Published 10/15/2026

Question:

I have a 2012 Fleetwood Bounder 35K. Im looking to replace the sectional sofa from the factory with this product as it reclines manually and would be a much better fit for me over the factory installed sofa. Sadly, there is little information of the dimensions other than the length of 76. Was told by an Etrailer rep 2 days ago that I would have to put the sofa 12inch away from the wall which is absolutely ridiculous on every level and application so I know I was misinformed. Now I am told I need 4inch to 5inch of clearance from the wall. For me to make this purchase, I need accurate information. I need to know how far the Eddie Bauer Dutchmen Reclining RV Sofa- 76inch Wide - Homeway Taupe, part number EB64FR needs to be set from the wall for reclining, the overall height of the product and the overall depth. Non of this information is listed on the Etrailer website and I cant purchase without knowing. I understand I can return the product if it doesnt work yet I would have to pay for return shipping. Please send me the requested information so I an decide weather to purchase this product or not. Thank you for your time.

Hey Jeff,

I completely understand wanting accurate dimensions before ordering something this large, especially with return shipping involved. And sorry for any confusion up to this point.

The Eddie Bauer Dutchmen Reclining RV Sofa # EB64FR is a wall-hugging design, so you do not need 12" behind it. It needs approximately 4"–5" of clearance from the wall to fully recline.

The sofa measures approximately:

76" wide

39-1/2" deep

41-1/2" tall

Sorry for the conflicting information you received earlier. If you want to send me the width and depth of the space where your factory sofa sits, I can also help you compare options before you order.
