Question:
Is the 500-lb working load limit for each individual strap or for both straps combined?

Thanks for letting us help Francis. The 500 lbs working load limit on the Caliber Retrax Self-Retracting Strap Kit # CA79VT is per strap. Since the kit includes two straps, you'll have a combined working load limit of 1,000 lbs, provided the load is properly secured and both straps are sharing the load appropriately.
One of the best features of the # CA79VT is how easy the straps are to use. The self retracting design keeps the excess webbing neatly contained, while the spring loaded clips on the hooks help keep everything attached while you're securing your load. There's nothing worse than getting halfway around whatever you're tying down, only to realize the hook fell off on the other side and you have to walk back around to reattach it. That's the real walk of shame!
What are you planning to secure with the Retrax straps?
