Hey Ian, thanks for reaching out. You are on the right track with a Goose Box, especially since your Bradford Built flatbed already has a recessed 2-5/16" gooseneck ball. The Reese gooseboxes are currently unavailable, but we do have other options from brands like Gen-Y or B&W that will definitely work for you. The big thing I need to confirm first is the pin box number on the Wildcat. There should be a sticker up on the side of the pin box brackets that shows the serial number and model number.

The other thing we need to check is that recessed ball pocket. Most gooseboxes require recessed flatbed pockets around 15" x 15" and no more than 5" deep. You will also need safety chains when switching the fifth wheel over to a gooseneck-ball connection.

If you can send me the exact Wildcat model/floorplan, the number off the existing pin box, and the length × width × depth of the recessed ball pocket, I can nail down exactly which Goose Box and anything else you need. Forest River has several Wildcat models around 43' long, so I do not want to guess based on the length alone.

What will you haul on the Bradford flatbed when camping with the Wildcat?

I bought the B&W gooseneck pinbox. It comes with the chains. I just did a 7000 mile trip with it and it works well. The reason I picked the B&W over the Reese Goose box, the Curt Helix, and the Gen Y are that there is no break in period like the Gen Y, you don't have to worry about air leaks like the Goose box, and their is no shock to have to change later like the Curt Helix. The B&W uses a sumo spring rubber bumper, and it also addresses both vertical and horizontal forces instead of one or the other.
