Looking For Access Panel To Replace Dometic Refrigerator Vent

Updated 09/02/2026 | Published 08/29/2026

Question:

Good Day, do you have any exterior rv access panels that could replace a Dometic refrigerator vent? Ive pulled the Dometic frig and repaced with a residential, so we do not need exterior vents and would like to add wall insulation. Thank You

Good day, Alan, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can replace the old Dometic refrigerator vent with an exterior RV access door, and that is actually a nice way to handle the opening after switching to a residential refrigerator. It lets you insulate and seal the old refrigerator compartment while still giving you exterior access if you ever need to get behind the refrigerator for wiring or service.

The main thing I need is the rough opening size of the existing Dometic refrigerator vent. Access doors come in quite a few sizes, so I recommend measuring the width and height of the actual opening in the RV wall after the vent frame is removed. Send me those two measurements and I can help match you up with an access door that fits. Hopefully we can get you something that won't require rebuilding the opening.

What is the size of your vent cutout?
