Are Load Range G Maxxis Tires A Good Choice For My Wolf Pack Toy Hauler?

Updated 09/01/2026 | Published 08/26/2026

Question:

Hello Im looking at 2 sets of wheel and tires for my 2027 Forest River cherokee wolfpack 290pack13. GVWR 14740lbs. Is there any difference in these other than wheel style? Are Goodyear still the best? Should I go F-G rated? I do carry a 2000lb Honda Talon. Hello Jason,

Thanks for writing in. My apologies for the delay, it is end of the busy season and we got quite the spike in questions.

I saw that since writing in you went ahead and purchased the Maxxis ST235/80R16 Radial Tire with Eagle Aluminum Wheel # MXS59FR, and I really like the choice you made for your Wolf Pack.

The Goodyear Endurance tires you were looking at are great tires, but both of those options are Load Range E and rated for 3,420 lbs per tire at 80 psi. The Maxxis # MXS59FR you went with is a Load Range G rated for 4,080 lbs per tire at 110 psi. With a heavier toy hauler and your 2,000 lb Honda Talon along for the ride, I like having that extra capacity with the Load Range G.

You also stayed with the ST235/80R16 size and 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern you were already looking at, plus these come mounted on the Eagle aluminum wheels and bead balanced. So yes, I think you made a great decision going with the Maxxis.

So where are you headed first with the new shoes?
