Thanks for reaching out Will. There are a couple of ways we can determine the correct Bearing Buddy for your trailer. The first, which it sounds like you've already done, is to measure the inside diameter of the hub bore. You can also measure the outside diameter of the existing grease cap for comparison. If your hub bore does measure exactly 2.500 inches, unfortunately, we don't carry a Bearing Buddy that will fit that size. The closest smaller option is the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB2441, which fit a 2.441-inch hub bore. Based on your measurement, those would be too small.
Another way we commonly identify the correct Bearing Buddy is by the outer bearing number. If you can remove the hub and send me the number stamped on the outer bearing, I'd be happy to cross-reference it and see if that leads us to another compatible option.
If we determine that we don't carry the correct size or if you simply need to return the Bearing Buddies you already purchased I'd be happy to help initiate the return process.
Do you happen to know the number stamped into your outer bearing?

It has been a while ago since I bought 20 Buddies for the axles on my Tucker SnoCat. They come with a sleeve that fit snug. In two winters I only lost one Buddy, although the sleeve was still on the hub. It probably got knocked off by debris in the snow. Best solution for keeping grease in the axle bearings. Highly recommended
