Gen-Y Dominator Gooseneck Hitch for 2027 Ram 3500 Factory Pucks

Updated 09/04/2026 | Published 08/19/2026

Question:

Hey guys, I just bought a 2027 Ram 3500 with the factory puck system. I pull a gooseneck dump trailer pretty regularly but still need the full bed for work when I'm not towing. I like the idea of the cushioning on the Gen-Y Dominator but how difficult is it to remove when I need my bed back?

Hey Cody, congratulations on the new truck! The Gen-Y Dominator Gooseneck Hitch # GY59TQ would work really well for what you're doing. It installs directly into the factory puck system on your 2027 Ram 3500, so you can remove the entire hitch when you're done towing and have your bed open for work.

You'll also get the Torsion-Flex cushioning you're looking for when you have the dump trailer hooked up. The # GY59TQ is rated for 25,000 lbs with a 3,500-6,500 lb tongue weight range and has the safety chain anchors built right into the hitch.

What are you typically hauling in the dump trailer?

Mostly gravel, dirt, and debris from job sites. I use the truck for my construction business so being able to pull the hitch out and have the whole bed available while still getting these benefits is a big deal.

@CodyW sounds like the Dominator will be a great fit for how you're using the truck then. Being able to get the whole hitch out of the way when you need the bed should make things a lot easier around the job site. Good luck with the new truck!
