Hi Mark!
I must admit to not knowing exactly what you are referring to, but the Custer 4-Way Round to 4-Way Flat # ADP001 may be what you are looking for. To my knowledge, the standard 4-Flat used today was the same as what was used in the 80s, but there were instances where the 4-Round was also used.
If that's not what you are needing though, I would swap out whatever you have on your van to the Curt 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # C58044. This would give you the standard 4-Flat and will solve all your issues. It does need to be hardwired, but it's pretty easy to do.
What kind of trailer are you pulling?
