How Much Caliber Bunk Wrap Do I Need for a 23-Foot Pontoon Boat Trailer?
Updated 08/01/2026 | Published 07/27/2026 >
Question:
My trailer is for a 23 foot pontoon boat. The trailer has 6 - 19 foot sections that all need to be replaced. I would like to use the black Caliber bunk wrap. Could you tell me how much I would need to buy and if I should use treated or non-treated wood. Southern Pine? Oh- there all also 2 - 2 foot upright stop bolsters. Thank you.

I'd be happy to help with that Michael! Based on the measurements you gave, you'll need to cover six 19 foot bunk boards plus two 2 foot upright stop bolsters. You'll need 5 of the 24 foot Caliber Bunk Wrap Kits part # CA63AJ. Each 24 foot roll will cover one of your 19 foot bunks, leaving about 5 feet of material. Those leftover pieces will give you more than enough material to wrap both of your 2 foot stop bolsters, with some extra left over.
For the wood, I'd recommend using good quality kiln dried, non treated Southern Yellow Pine. Even though the bunk wrap keeps the wood from contacting the pontoons, non treated lumber is less likely to warp over time and eliminates any concern about treated lumber interacting with the aluminum.
One tip before installing the wrap is to let it sit out in the sun for a little while. It becomes much more flexible and easier to pull tight around the boards for a clean, wrinkle free installation. Are your current bunk boards 2x6s, or are they 2x4s? becuase this Caliber kit is designed for 2x6
