Question:
Looking at roof racks for my 2015 BMW X4bare roof. Was wondering why the cross bars on all offerings are so short. I have over 72 to outside of mirrors. All the cross bars Ive seen are a max of 50 long. Seems like there is a lot of unused space, plus having to reach further onto the roof to get to a bike or a box.

Hi Ernest!
We definitely have more options than what is listed for your 2015 BMW X4 with the naked roof. The ones we have kitted together on that page are just the ones people tend to go with the most, but we can put other kits together for you if 50" long crossbars aren't going to be enough for you. So with that said, you will need to start with the following parts:
BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4 # Y28TR
BaseClip Fit Kit for Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers - Qty 2 # Y06179 (you will need 2 pairs of these)
For the crossbars, we absolutely have more options than the 50" long CoreBar # Y00421. We do have them in a 70" option (with part # Y00423), but that is going to give you a lot of overhang and may not be the best option. The 60" CoreBar # Y00422 I think would be the better option. They give you plenty of room to work with, but won't stick out too far past the towers (which can diminish the weight capacity of the bar). If I were doing this, these would be the ones I would use.
Are you wanting to load a bike along with a roof box on your roof?
