Installation Instructions for Fitting a Wedge into a Reese hitch

Question:
Replaced standard pin box with a sidewinder. How far does the wedge go in . does it go all the way to the kingpin. this is a universal wedge. Can you help

To adjust the wedge, hook up to the fifth-wheel trailer and latch it properly. Then, with the trailer wheels blocked, landing gear resting firm on the ground and supporting the trailer weight, tap the wedge firmly forward until it will no longer travel. Now, tighten the wedge bolts, if only one can be tightened, tighten it and unhook. Then tighten both bolts and torque to the specifications listed in the instructions for your sidewinder.
I have attached a drawing showing the orientation instructions for the Universal wedge on Pro Series hitches that should be included with your sidewinder.
