Hi Will,

Not completely. An RV heat pump is a great way to heat your camper during mild weather, but it isn't designed to replace a propane furnace in colder temperatures. The heat pump on Fogatti InstaCool RV AC w/ Heat Pump part # FG72VR works well when the outside temperature is between about 28°F and 86°F. Once it gets much colder than that, it loses efficiency.

A heat pump can definitely help you save propane during the spring and fall, and it's a nice feature if you do a lot of camping in milder weather. It just works best as a complement to your furnace rather than a replacement.

Out of curiosity, what part of the country do you usually camp in, and are you planning to use your RV mostly in the warmer months or year-round?
