Wiring Harness for 2010 Volvo XC70

Question:

Hi e trailer, I’ve had great experiences working with you in the past. I have a volvo xc70 from 2010 that i intend to wire a trailer hitch light harness into. I’ve already installed the hitch itself. The car comes with two connectors designed to accept trailer wiring, but i believe may also require a software update? Either way, curious if you can give any recommendations on a product that i could safely use for my car that would utilize these connectors, and whether a software update is required. Thanks so much! Hey Aidan, welcome back! The wiring harness you were looking at is actually designed for the 2006-2012 RAV4. For your Volvo you need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56386.

This plugs into the connection points behind your tail lights and then you'll run a hot lead up to the battery. It won't have any kind of connection with the computer, it just carries the signals over to the trailer, so no software update is required.
