What Makes the Cushioning of the MORryde GooseTech Work So Well When Towing

Updated 06/28/2026 | Published 06/27/2026

Question:

I dont understand this concept. chuckinginch from a 5th wheel is understandable but a gooseneck is on a ball, there should not be any chucking. Why would the only have fore and aft movement? Seems like vertical cushioning would be appropriate to smooth the ride. Am I wrong?

Hey Mike, you have sound logic but there are still horizontal shocks that get transferred to the tow vehicle that the MORryde GooseTech part # MR24MV helps with. When you hit a bump in the road there's a momentary pushing of the trailer into your tow vehicle when the vehicle is hitting the bump and then when the trailer hits it yanks back. The truck has up and down suspension with the suspension of the vehicle but there isn't anything that cushions forward to back and that is why the Goosetech surprisingly does so well at improving ride quality. What trailer do you have?
