Can The RainBlade RV Rain Deflector Be Used On A Front-Facing RV Window?
Updated 06/29/2026 | Published 06/24/2026 >
Question:
2019 coachman apex nano with 35inch front flush/frameless window bonded into fiberglass channel. My sealant keeps failing and I need a drip cap to provide a physical rain barrier. Will this part work on a front-facing window or will the wind from towing peel it off? The other option Ive found is an aluminum version eg Ventline 3216DC 35 RV Drip Cap 35inch Aluminum W/ Mill Finish but I couldnt find a similar part on etrailer. Thoughts? IMO it needs to 100 cover the top seal and sides and never, ever come off. Im slightly concerned that, since this is semi-transparent ABS, the intense UV exposure my trailer gets will cause the mounting tape to fail...

Hey Ben, thanks for reaching out. I understand why you're looking at a drip cap if you've had the top seal keep failing. The # RV1036 Rain Blade can work well on side windows where it mainly sheds rain, but I'd be pretty hesitant to recommend it for a front-facing trailer window. That window sees a constant blast of wind at highway speeds, and the Rain Blade relies on adhesive tape to stay attached. Even with a good installation, that's a much tougher environment than it was really designed for.
If it were my trailer, I'd lean toward a rigid aluminum drip cap like the Ventline style you're talking about. It provides a true physical rain shield, is much less susceptible to UV exposure, and is better suited for the airflow a front window sees while towing. Unfortunately, we don't currently carry an aluminum drip cap like that.
