Best Pioneer Platform Rack Setup For A 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe

Question:
I purchased a Rhino Roof Rack system from etrailor in 2022 and 23. I have the one touch roof on a Wrangler 4xe so ended up using 8 1/4 in Gutter mount legs with Vortex Aero Crossbars order 113881335 and added a cargo basket Order 114777904 I also have 5 15/16 legs Order 114607467. I want to change the cargo basket to a Rhino Pioneer Platform Rack but dont know which one to use with my legs and if I need another set of legs. And will a platform rack do I down to the 5 15/16 legs?

Hey James, thanks for reaching out. Based on the parts you've listed, the 5-15/16" legs you currently have were designed for your Vortex Aero crossbar setup and won't transfer over to a Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform. For your 2022 Wrangler 4xe with the One-Touch roof, the setup we recommend is the 71" x 56" Pioneer Platform with Backbone system # RR34FR82ZR, which comes with the correct mounting components and Rhino-Rack RX300 legs.
The nice thing about the Backbone system is that it mounts directly to the Jeep's structure and is specifically designed around the Wrangler roof, so you don't have to worry about trying to match platform height to your existing gutter-mount legs. Unfortunately, that also means your current 5-15/16" legs would not be reused with the Pioneer platform. If your goal is a full platform rack, I'd start with the Backbone kit rather than trying to piece together a platform that works with the existing Vortex setup. It's the cleaner, stronger, and fully supported solution for the Wrangler.

Thank-you for the reply - just confirming this backbone system will have sufficient clearance for the one touch roof to open? (I switched from the Rhino 5 15/16 legs to the 8 1/4 legs to have sufficient clearance for the current Rhino roof basket).
