Need Boat Trailer Jack For 3" Wide Frame And 5" Tall Frame On Trailer

Updated 06/01/2026 | Published 05/24/2026

Question:

I have a need for a new jack for my boat trailer. I have 3x5 beams on my trailer. I need a jack that has a plate that is bigger than the 5 height so I can bolt on the new stand. What jacks do you have for this application?

Hey James!

The Ark Xtreme Off-Road Swivel Trailer Jack w/ 2 Wheels # ORJW350D you were looking at fits frames up to 6" tall, so that would work just fine on your 3" by 5" frame. That said, the included bolts are only 2" long, so you'll need to source longer bolts for the 3" wide frame. Those will be universal and easy to find for a few bucks at a local hardware store, but I know it's unfortunate that you need to go through that trouble.

If you want to save the time and trouble, you can just go with the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Jack w/ Wheel - Sidewind - Swivel - 10" Travel - Zinc - 1.5K # DL67MR which fits up to 3" wide and up to 5" tall frames like yours, so you wouldn't need to source any hardware. It is still marine grade zinc and has a wheel like the Ark, but it's actually a bit more affordable. I'd go this route since it's ready to go for your application.

Let me know if you need anything else! What kind of jack did you have on the boat trailer before?
