Replacing a Raritan Atlantes Vortex Vac with a Seaflo Marine Toilet on a Houseboat

Question:
Need this to replace an atlantes freedom vortex vac on my houseboat. Is this comparable? Can it flush into a holding tank 12-15 ft from toilet via existing waste line? Will the lines hook up to existing water lines that pull from the raw water?

Sherry, the Seaflo Raw Water Electric Marine Toilet part # SE72MR can work as a replacement, but I want to set clear expectations so you do not run into surprises. The Seaflo is not directly comparable to your Atlantes Vortex Vac because your current system uses vacuum assistance to help pull waste through the line, while the Seaflo uses a macerator pump that pushes waste instead. Your 12 to 15 foot run to the holding tank is generally within range for a macerating toilet, so it should work as long as the hose run is fairly straight, in good condition, and does not have much uphill rise or tight bends. If there is a noticeable uphill section, that is where your current vacuum system has an advantage, so that would be the one thing I would want to confirm with you before giving a full green light. I have sent an email to seaflo to see what they think about the 12 to 15 foot.
I did look up your current Atlantes system, and it uses the same general hose sizes as the Seaflo with a 3/4 inch intake for raw water and a 1-1/2 inch discharge line, so from a plumbing standpoint this is about as close as you can get for a conversion like this and it will connect to your existing lines without major changes.
Where most installs need a little adjustment is the mounting footprint. The Seaflo base is typically smaller and the bolt pattern will not line up with your existing Raritan, so plan on drilling new mounting holes and possibly seeing some of the old footprint unless you use a mounting plate or do a small patch. That is very normal when switching between brands and system types.
Overall, this is a solid, but much simpler system replacement option that should handle your setup if the hose run is reasonable, but since I know you are trying to avoid any backup or rework.
I would just want to confirm if your discharge line has any uphill rise or is it a straight shot to the holding tank?
