Hi etrailer: If 12’ foot rope too long can excess be cut and still usable? If no how can secure excess so not dragging behind car? Also is the 150 lb max load capacity one rope or both ropes together? Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out, Maureen.
You can cut the rope on the Malone SpeedLine Pro Tie-Downs with Ratchets and Carabiners # MAL62SR. I would recommend not doing that so you always have enough rope to pull things tight or if you ever need to use it for a different application.
To keep the excess rope wrapped up, you can use a strip of Velcro. Kuat makes a set of Velcro straps for securing a bike, but they work great for keeping extra rope bundled as well. They are part # KU43VR.
And for your last question, the 150 lbs weight limit with be the capacity when using both straps/ropes together.
