Question:
Which fabric is more pet friendly in regards to tearing?
asked by: Dawn H
Expert Reply:
Hi Dawn; between something like the # TP69KR (PolyHyde) and # TP49KR (woven fabric), the PolyHyde is tougher overall, but it can show scratches if claws dig in. The woven fabric is a bit more forgiving and doesn’t show claw wear as easily, although it can snag if pets catch the weave.
If your pets really like to scratch or dig go with woven fabric. If your pets tend to just lounge around and you want easier cleanup, the PolyHyde is the better choice. For strictly hiding claw damage, the fabric option tends to hold up better visually overall.
