Can I add another VN95VR later if I need more power, or am I stuck with just one? I need a little more wattage down the road

Hey Mark, that’s one of the nice things about going with a unit like the Victron Quattro inverter charger # VN95VR - you’re not locked into a single unit.

These can be run in parallel, so if you need more power down the road, you can add another inverter and effectively increase your total output. That’s a big reason people go with a 48V system - it scales a lot easier for larger off-grid builds.

Just keep in mind, adding another inverter also means your battery bank needs to be sized to support it, since more inverter capacity means more potential power draw. If the battery bank stays the same, you’ll still have more available power, but your runtime will drop faster under heavier loads.

Are you planning to build this out in stages or trying to size everything up front?

thanks! I'll look into getting second one so I can have closer to 10,000w of usable power which would allow me to run ac units, heat, fridge, pretty similar to on shore power.

@Mark You're welcome! And yes, just keep in mind the Victron inverter is rated at 4,000w continuous, with 10,000 surge for startup on appliances. So with two, you'll be looking at about 8,000w max continuous. As long as your battery bank has enough capacity, you shouldn't have an issue running everything you mentioned. Just keep in mind batteries can drain quickly at the level of power draw!
