Question:

Hi! I currently have a Roadmaster tow bar that I used to tow my old Tahoe. I sold the old Tahoe and just bought a 2026 new tahoe diesel high country. Two questions. 1. What base plate do I need for the new Tahoe? I like Roadmaster. 2. Can I use my current Roadmaster tow bar with the new base plate. I still have the s that connected my old Roadmaster base plate to the tow bar.

Hey Ken! Looking at the last base plate you got from us it was a Roadmaster Direct Connect. Is this the same tow bar? That was for a Silverado 1500. Assuming it is, the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM95DQ is what you need for your Tahoe.

Basically, as long as you don't have a crossbar style tow bar you will be able to use it with the new base plate. Are you saying you still have the old arms from the last base plate? Those won't carry over, but the new one comes with arms so that isn't a concern.

Do you still have a brake system from your old setup or do you need that as well?
