Can RetraxPRO Retractable Tonneau Cover Be Used With 2021 Tundra Short Bed OEM Deck Rail?

Question:

I have a 2021 Tundra CrewMax short bed withOEM deck rails with an AdaRac rack using rails on the bed rails mounted via the stake mounts. There is just over 65” of space between the rails of the rack. I currently have a BakFlip MX4, which fits between the rack rails just fine. Will the RetraxPRO XR fit? That is, is the full width of this tonneau cover less than 65” wide installed?

Hey Ken, the BAKflip you have now is considered "inside the rail" mount which is why it works with a "top of rail" mounted ladder rack. The RetraxPRO XR you're interested in is considered "top of rail" mount and would interfere with the ladder rack. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news there.

We do have other hard/soft covers that work with the ladder rack you have, but none of them offer the t-slot for accessories like the RetraxPRO does and none are retractable. You can't really have a ladder rack and also have an accessory to slot for accessories or uprights since those cancel out.

If you wanted to get rid of the Adarac ladder rack and install the Retrax retractable tonneau cover # RTT-80841 you could do that and then install a ladder rack on top of the Retrax with something like Yakima # Y01151-5855.
