Hello Clyde,

Yes, you can absolutely use a pressure gauge with the Bulldog Winch Dual Head Chuck with 12" Hose # BDW65QB, you just want to make sure the connection is set up correctly so you’re getting accurate readings every time.

This chuck uses a standard 1/4" NPT female fitting on the hose end, which works great because most tire pressure gauges use that same 1/4" NPT connection. If your gauge has a 1/4" NPT male fitting, it will thread right in with no extra adapters needed, giving you a clean, solid setup.

Where issues can pop up, and where your concern is totally valid, is with mismatched fittings. Mixing quick-connects with NPT threads or stacking adapters can create small leaks at the connection. Even tiny leaks can throw off your readings and lead to underinflated tires, which can affect stability when towing.

The best setup is to keep it simple with a direct 1/4" NPT to 1/4" NPT connection and use a little thread sealant or Teflon tape to keep everything airtight. That way you get consistent, accurate readings without any guesswork.

A nice bonus with the Bulldog Winch Dual Head Chuck with 12" Hose # BDW65QB is the dual-head design. The straight and angled ends make it easier to reach valve stems on dually trucks, trailers, or tighter spaces.

What are you usually airing up, truck tires, trailer tires, or off-road setups?
