Will Pace Edwards EL400 Ladder Rack Fit A TonnoTec Retractable Cover?

Hey Joe, thanks for reaching out. I wouldn’t count on that rack fitting your Tonotec rails. The EL400 Ladder Rack # PE83QJ is built around the exact track profile that Pace Edwards uses, and those channels are pretty specific in terms of width, lip shape, and how the hardware locks in. Tonotec may have a similar looking rail, but they’re not standardized across brands, so the clamps and T-bolts on that rack usually won’t seat correctly or tighten down the way they’re supposed to. Even if you could slide the hardware in, the fit would probably be loose or uneven, which is the last thing you want when you’re putting weight on a ladder rack.

I’ll also be straight with you, we haven’t tested that combo here because we don’t carry Tonotec covers, so there’s no confirmed fitment to go off of. When it comes to these track-mounted racks, we really only recommend sticking with the systems they’re designed around, because once you get outside that ecosystem it turns into a guess, and not a great one. If you want something solid, you’re better off going with a rack made specifically for your cover.

@JoeC Glad to help. Just wish I had better news for you. Looks like Tonotec might be an Amazon brand so there just isn't much cross compatibility fitment info out there. You might be able to get away with a more universal ladder rack, but you'd still be getting into uncharted territory.
