Which Yakima LockNLoad Platform for 2022 Mazda CX-5

Question:

Hi, I found your page on YouTube and wanted to reach out for a product inquiry for my specific vehicle. I have a 2022 Mazda cx-5 with a factory roof rack and I’m looking to get a roof top platform. I’m deciding between the Thule caprock or the Yakima locknload leaning towards Yakima. My question is about sizing. Yakimas manufacturer recommended size k but I’m curious if size B would fit wanting largest size without looking funny. For Thule, would size L fit? Hopefully with the amount of racks and platforms you deal with on a daily basis you’ll have a better idea as to what size I should get. For the lowest profile reduce wind noise/sleeker look, would clamps that attach to my already installed roof rack be less than if I were to get new foots that attach to the side rails? Hey Megan, so the Thule Caprock that was recommended for your CX-5 is actually no longer available but we do have the Yakima LockNLoad # Y47PB that is the correct fit for your 2022 Mazda CX-5 with raised side rails. This measures 55 by 49 inches. I would strongly recommend you go with the recommended size as it won't look funny, the wind noise wouldn't be quite as bad, and it was actually test fit on your vehicle unlike other options. What are you planning on carrying with the platform?
