2020 Grand Design Reflection Travel Trailer - Solution For Camp Site Water That Is Bad Quality

Updated 03/25/2026 | Published 03/24/2026

Question:

I’ve got a 2020 Grand Design Reflection and we’ve started doing longer trips out west. Water quality has been hit or miss at the camp site spouts. What’s the best way to make sure what we’re drinking is actually safe?

Paul, for consistent drinking water across different campgrounds, a full multi-stage system is the way to go.

The Blu Technology AR3 Elite water filter kit # GB59FR is a strong option because it gives you 3-stage filtration plus a water softener. So, you’re not only filtering out sediment and contaminants down to 0.2 microns, but also dealing with mineral content that can affect taste and your plumbing over time.

That combo tends to make a noticeable difference when you’re moving between parks with varying water quality. Your taste buds and your RVs internal water system will thank you for installing this kit haha.

Are you usually hooked up the whole time, or do you switch between hookups and tank use?

Yeah we’re usually hooked up the whole time. Just tired of not trusting the water at some of these places.

@Paul I gotcha! Once you’ve got that in line, you stop second guessing every campground spigot and just use your water like normal again. Makes a big difference on those longer trips when you have top notch water every time!
