Troubleshooting Signal Issue with Install of TireMinder A1AS TPMS for RVs

Updated 04/20/2026 | Published 03/22/2026

Question:

I purchased this system last fall. Used it for the first time in March of this year. The set up was easy and straightforward. However, during our first trip, the signal dropped about 30 minutes into the trip and didn’t come back until we got to the campground. Coming home was the same. I had one tire reading on my receiver for most of the trip but the others showed “NS” for most of the trip. My repeater is mounted near the battery on the tongue and wired directly to the battery. Any suggestions?

Hey Jason, sorry to hear about the signal issues. Most likely this is due to an issue with the location of the signal repeater. Can you try a location with a better line of sight to the sensors?

It is currently mounted beneath the tongue of the trailer and basically parallel with the sensors now. Does it matter which way the antenna points? Currently it is horizontally pointing towards the tow vehicle.

@JasonC You might try experimenting with the antenna but I don't think it would matter a whole lot. Is there a way to maybe get the repeater closer to the transmitter? Or a clearer path to it? That should help if so.

@JamesonC I am pretty sure I figured it out. Chalk it up to user error. On my most recent trip I unwired everything and did some more checking. I’m pretty sure I had the wiring wrong and now that it is correct, it is working as it should. I did find that the best place to mount the antenna is on the lid of my battery box.
