Hi David, I intended to bolt it on and wire the lighting myself. But it's much heavier than I expected so I took it to a local trailer shop for help. It took 3 guys working for an hour with air tools to get it installed. Maybe it's just my 2002 Impala, but it took some spacers to clear the single exhaust on the right side. The Impala harness didn't like my wiring attempt, and I ended up buying the harness kit also. Wish I had bought it with the hitch. So it cost more than I hoped, but has worked perfectly with rather heavy U-Haul trailers when needed.
