How long can the 12V FR35XQ run at a time? I don’t want to overheat it.

Good afternoon Matt, the Fill Rite 20gpm fuel transfer pump # FR35XQ has a 30-minute on / 30-minute off duty cycle.
It’s also thermally protected, meaning the motor helps guard against overheating during extended use. It’s designed for regular intermittent fueling, not continuous commercial pumping all day. It does run off 12V DC power, not AC power.
About how many gallons are you typically transferring at a time? If it's quite a bit, you may be better off upgrading to a heavier duty unit like 35gpm # FR43XQ which runs off 115v/130v AC instead of 12v DC. It has the same 30 min duty cycle, but it's more for commercial use and has a much higher gallons per minute rating.
