Will Curt Make Plug and Play Wiring Harness for 2026 Kia Sportage

Updated 03/04/2026 | Published 02/25/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a 2026 Kia Sportage SX Prestige hybrid and want to install a trailer hitch wiring harness. What I would like to install is a 6-pin plug and play harness that is compatible with Kia part CHF67-AC000, not a T-connector or other harness that requires splicing into the tail light wiring, etc. warranty issues. What I would like to know is if Curt has any plans to release a 6-pin plug and play harness for the 2026 Sportage. Note: The 2026 is different than 2025 and older Sportage models. Thanks.

Hi Norm; more than likely Curt will make one but I don't know when that will be. They're behind on some other wiring harnesses right now, and don't have a pre-order up for this, so it might not be at the top of their list. The other major companies are Hopkins (just shut down under First Brands) and Tekonsha (for sale under First Brands) so all things considered it will probably be a while before one comes out.

If you plan on towing in the near future with your 2026 Kia Sportage SX Prestige Hybrid, and you don't want to use the OEM wiring harness, the only option that won't require splicing is the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. This clamps onto your vehicle wiring so you won't have to worry about voiding the warranty.

What will you be towing with your Kia Sportage?

I have this kit on my BMW X1. Same deal - I didn’t want to have to explain at the dealership if the hard-wire kit caused problems. I did fear that it might not work as well, but it’s absolutely bulletproof. It’s totally worth

I installed this kit on our 2018 Audi SQ5. As everyone knows, doing anything on an Audi is a major pain. But like everyone else here, we didn’t want to splice into any wiring harness. This kit was the only option I had. It did take some time to install, but I wanted to make it look as clean and professional as possible. E trailer has many videos on the subject so I would advise to check them out. Once the correct wires are located, snapping the sensors on the wires is simple. Just make sure to have them facing the right direction. You do have to do the final programming sequence in the correct order for all functions to work correctly. After that, you are good to go! As always, once you connect to a trailer, always check the trailer lights to be sure they are functioning correctly. I’m so glad that I chose this kit.
