Good morning Dana.

With a 300Ah lithium bank, a 40A converter / power panel like the one in the WFCO # WFC72GR will work - but recharge times will be longer compared to a higher-output unit. It really depends on what battery bank you have, and if you plan to stay hooked up to shore power or use a generator for a few hours where the batteries will need to charge up quickly.

If your cabinet allows for the larger horizontal opening, the # WF86FR 55A will recharge a larger battery bank noticeably faster while still working on standard 30A shore power.

So the decision comes down to cabinet opening size and charging speed requirements.
If you rely heavily on generator charging, the 55A is usually worth it to get charged up quickly.

Are you charging mostly from shore, generator, or solar? If you don't have solar, that could help out tremendously.

thanks. I use a small generator for a few hours when off-grid, so the added amperage of the 55a unit will probably serve me best. I do not have solar.

@Dana You're welcome. And right on, you may benefit from solar if you plan to go off-grid or don't want to use your generator throughout the day every time you camp. Something like the OptiMate Portable Solar Panel with Controller - 80 Watt Solar Panel # MA66JR would be a good portable system that you won't have to attach to anything permanently.
