Can 3 inch and 2.5 inch Lunette Ring be Used with Same Pintle

Question:
Hello. I have a pintle hitch that i dont/cant bolt onto my truck as sometimes i switch to a ball hitch for other trailers..... The pintle hitch is rated for a 2.5inch Lunette ring diameter. Unfortunately the only 2.5 inch lunette rings i see on your website doesnt bolt onto my coupler device as the bolts dont go in sideways Photo I want to replace the ball hitch on the trailer photo with a lunette ring. Would a 3 inch lunette ring be acceptable? Im worried about too much slop.inch Please advise. Thank you

Hey Sawyer, yes a 3 inch diameter luntette ring like the part # DM09557-81 can be used with a pintle designed for a 2.5 inch ring as typically the pintles are designed for use with 2.5 and 3 inch rings so this would work great in place of the ball coupler you have now. Do you prefer the ring setups over ball couplers? I always though the ring setups were easier to deal with and oddly smoother and quieter.
