I installed these in under an hour in my 25 platinum explorer I did not figure out how to utilize the crappy plastic housing that Westin supplied with there logo all over them. Their intended purpose was to hide/bulk up the 3 connection points on each side. They are ugly and serve as decorative parts only. After a year of having them on and going through a winter I will say this. They are beautiful on the car however they serve very little purpose as this vehicle is low to the ground already. My family is short and we typically have to step way beyond them to avoid salt getting on our pants. They are very slippery when wet and obviously that gets worse with ice and snow. They had no effect on gas consumption as this vehicle is a beast you probably already know this! Lol. Love how fast ours is. Good luck with your decision. Easy project
