Hey Hannah - that’s a great priority.

Projecta jump starters use LiFePO4 batteries and built-in protection systems to prevent reverse polarity, overheating, and short circuits. Models like the 1,400A # VX73NR and 2,000A # VX23NR are especially popular for that reason.

They’re also much more forgiving with dead batteries thanks to the longer manual override feature - something many low-cost jump packs skip entirely.

What kind of vehicle will you mainly use it on?

Not gonna lie, the blowing up part got my attention ?? I had no idea there was that much difference in battery types. I definitely don’t want something sketchy rolling around in my glove box.

@Emily Yeah… once you’ve seen or heard about that happening, it kind of sticks with you. It’s not super common for jump starters to actually blow up, but it can happen with cheaper designs or older types. That’s why a lot of people go with LiFePO4-based jump starters like Projecta. They’re much more stable, especially when stored in a car year-round, so you don’t get that “is this thing safe?” feeling when you grab it.
