Question:
Good day - Happy New Year Can you tell me how durable this net really is and its UV and water rating? This may sound strange, but I am looking for a net to be used as a safety edging on my irrigation pond so if humans and animals fall in they can climb out. The pond is lined and is very slick around the edges. The 7 by 13 net is the perfect fit. I would need two of them. Thanks for your thoughts

Hey Keith welcome back and happy new year to you as well! Hope yours has gotten off to a great start!
That is an interesting use you have planned for the Gladiator Trailer Cargo Net with Cam Buckle Tie-Downs item # GC39FR. It's designed to be used outside in all weather but as far as a water rating it doesn't have one. It's made of vinyl-coated mesh, which is commonly used in pool covers and they have a 10-15 year life span. So used year round you can probably expect 5-7 years. My only concern would be the grommets rusting if they're kept submerged.
The Gladiator Trailer Cargo Net item # GC39FR is made of a UV-treated polypropylene webbing. The manufacturer's website says you can expect it to last for several years even with regular exposure to sunlight. Which lines up with the water durability expectation time wise.
Are you planning on having the net or any portion of it submerged around your pond? That would definitely cut down the life span of the net.

Thanks Jerred Even if they do rust we are good. The water level varies with use. The reason is my dog jumped in last year and I panicked trying to get him out and ended up joining him LOL. That's when I discovered how slick the liner is. I first used a cheap truck bed net and it lasted the summer, so hoping something heavier would work. At the price it is well worth it I hope.
