Question:

I hahve some questions regarding hitches and wiring. I will be installing on a 2006 BMW 325i Sedan, I can find the hitch in your online catalog but i am unable to find a Wiring kit for the lights, i contacted my local BMW dealer and they have no listing of a trailer wiring kit, what is the recommendation for this. Thank You

When a hitch is installed on a 2006 BMW 325i it is usually used as an attachment point for a bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory, instead of for towing purposes. For this reason, Tow Ready or Curt don't have a specific recommended trailer wiring kit for the vehicle.

I checked with my Curt representative, and was told that a hardwired converter kit like Curt # C59496 would be your best bet. I'll link you to a help article showing several methods of routing the power wire from the rear of the vehicle to the battery.

You'll want to consult BMW or your owners manual to determine the towing capacity of the vehicle. It is possible that the hitch you use might actually have a higher capacity than the tow vehicle does, so be sure to abide by the lowest rating.
