Question:

I am looking at a roof rack for my 2009 mini cooper clubman. All of the roof racks talk about racks that install on rails that run front to back which I do not have as my car have the double sunroof unless I am misunderstanding. I do have the factory rain gutter like is show on the Curt trailer hitch install video for the 2013 mini cooper clubman. Thanks

Hey Bob, thanks for all the information. I checked with our vendors and since your 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman doesn't have roof rails, the only option I have to add a roof rack is with the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack item # 298-SX6000B. Thule, Yakima, Rhino-Rack, and Malone only have options to add crossbars to roof rails not rain gutters.

The SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack item # 298-SX6000B uses scratch-resistant vacuum cups, similar to what glass glazers use, to attach to your Mini's roof. They are capable of safely and securely attaching to glass. This roof rack includes two 48" long x 1-1/4" diameter round crossbars with a 150 lbs capacity.

Hey Bob, how did the SeaSucker Monkey Bars work out on your Mini Cooper Clubman? It’d be great to hear how the vacuum cups held up with your setup. Your update could make it easier for others with the same roof style.
