Question:
Should you run the Kay’s oil dipstick heater 24/7 I have a 1723 Massie Ferguson I use to push snow in winter. I was thinking putting heated dipstick on timer for 6-8 hours daily or when I know snow is coming. Should I just plug in 6-8 hours before I know I will be starting tractor ? thank you in advance

Hey Jeff. The Kat's Heaters Engine Oil Dipstick Heater item # KH15200 should not be run 24/7 or even 6-8 hours before you plan on using your tractor. It doesn't have a built in thermostat so that's way too long to leave this 90 watt heater plugged in and running.
The Kat's Dipstick Heater item # KH15200 should be plugged in 1-2 hours before you plan on using your tractor even in well below freezing temperatures. You will want to make sure at least 5" of the dipstick is submersed in oil.
How cold does it get where you're at?

Hey Jeff, how did things go using the Kat’s dipstick heater on your Massey Ferguson this winter? Did running it for just an hour or two before starting give you the warm-up you needed? Your update could make it easier for others working in the same cold conditions.
