Will Eva-Dry Smart Temperature and Humidity Sensor Work As Remote Sensor for Stove Burner  

Hi. I am looking at your Eva Dry Smart Temp. Sensor. I will tell you what i need and please let me know if this might work for me. I have moved into an apartment where I have a flat top electric stove after having gas stoves all my life. I cannot get used to this stove and I worry it/I will cause a fire. I am 64 years old, a senior I guess, and seem to still be in charge of all my facilities. But, a few times I have turned the stove burner on and walked away. You cannot see from across the room that the burner is on. You have to be standing basically over it to see it is on. I am 51 so that distance would be closer than someone taller. Anyway, I am a cautious person. I am looking for something that would notice the temp and alert me. I am having a problem finding such a thing that would work right. I dont want a loud annoying alarm because it may get set off by normal stove use and that will get old. I am hoping i can learn enough about the product to find a spot to set it near the stove when i am using it that wont get set off easily. I hope this makes sense.
