Question:

Looking for a replacement ac u tied for my 2011 Sundance 3200re rear unit. Has duct ran three trailer. Part number-3107541.009 Serial number-us508559 Dometic duo therm.

Hey Clayton, thanks for reaching out. We do have a replacement AC unit that can be used on your 2011 Sundance 3200. Since the current one is an older r410a unit, your best option will be to replace the rooftop unit, distribution box and thermostat for the rear unit. For that I recommend the following:

- Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w Air Distribution Box - Ducted - 18,000 Btu - White # FR99TD

This comes with everything you need to replace/upgrade your AC system. The Chill Cube is great because it offers a higher BTU rating with less power consumption than other units.

I do see you were looking at the Furrion # FR42PV which comes with the Coleman adapter. This can, in some cases, work for replacing a duo-therm, but it is very hit-or-miss. It is not a reliable solution and I have seen too many cases of the adapter not working so it is not something I can confidently recommend. Whereas the Chill Cube system is guaranteed to work.

I used the Coleman adapter with my Furion on my 2014 Sun Valley approximately 3 years ago and it is still working great.

@ClydeF Glad to hear the adapter has been working well for you, and thanks for sharing your long-term experience. Results can vary depending on the specific AC models involved, which is why we sometimes see mixed outcomes with adapters like this. With newer RV AC systems transitioning to R32 refrigerant, compatibility has become even more limited. That said, it’s great to hear yours has held up and continues to perform as expected.

The Furrion 18,000 btu I bought for my HR has run as expected and it was a simple plug and play installation! Looks good and performs better than the Dometic that originally came with the motor home.
