The jounce bumper cup where the OEM bumper sits stays on the frame of the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 when installing Firestone air bags # F2430. Just the rubber bumper gets removed. Many times, if these bumpers are not held just by compression, there is a bolt that goes through the middle of it and is accessible through a hole at the bottom of the bumper. There may also be a nut on top of the frame. Take a look at the video I have linked that might also help.
