With The Curt Front Hitch 31080 For A 2004 Dodge Dakota Block The Oil Filter?
Updated 12/11/2025 | Published 12/04/2025 >
Question:
Will the 31080 interfere with changing the oil filter? It appears it will block the access opening to the filter. Thank you. 2004 Dakota Club Cab 4WD.

Hi Joel!
From what I could find, which I will admit wasn't much, it looks like the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 31080 can interfere with replacing the oil filter on your 2004 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4x4, but it doesn't look like it will completely block it or anything like that. So having the hitch attached will just make it a bit more difficult to get the job done.
I know that's a bummer, but what are you wanting the front hitch for? I may have a different way of accomplishing the task at hand. Maybe.

Thanks for the quick reply. To answer your question, I am planning to use it for a snowsport 180 or LT snow plow.
