Looking For A Replacement Gooseneck Coupler For My 40ft Big Tex Trailer

Question:
I need to purchase a replacement coupler just need some info. Would the bx1 bulldog replacement with the inner tube work with a 40ft big Tex trailer? Also if I decide to buy just the coupler alone without the tube, does the process involve just cutting off the old coupler and welding on the new one?

Hey Andrew,
The important thing to note when figuring out fitment is the weight capacity of the coupler to make sure that it is capable of towing your trailer. As well as the tube size to make sure it will fit your trailer. This Bulldog coupler # BD1289050300 has a 30k weight capacity and a 4" tube diameter. As long as those work for you this will be a good replacement.
I do not see that we carry just the coupler by itself, but if you were to find one you would just need to cut and weld. What are you using your Tex trailer for?
