On your 2025 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 with 6-1/2' bed, the tonneau section latches inside the rails but doesn’t block the tailgate, so you can open it anytime. The rear flap seals against the top of the tailgate to keep dust and water out.

That’s a nice perk if you’re grabbing gear at a campsite without unlatching the topper. Do you plan to keep the topper up most of the time or use it seasonally?
